Our love for this part of the world goes back a long way. We first started exploring Deep Creek Conservation Park during our student years. The South West Fleurieu Peninsula was not a well- known destination for travellers in those days.

This passion for what is one of South Australia’s most spectacular coastlines grew with each visit. In fact, so much so that we gave up promising city careers to become early adopters of the sea change phenomenon starting Southern Ocean Retreats in 1994.

The stunning coastal scenery of Deep Creep and environs has been our home as a proud tourism operator ever since.

A word about responsible travel

We consider it a privilege to operate in such a gorgeous part of the world but with that comes a responsibility to preserve the pristine beauty of this environment for future generations.

Our accommodation uses best practice environmental principles including;

rain harvesting for all kitchen and bathroom amenities, high-efficiency wood heaters, household recycling, use of led lighting, and use of environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Our business also has a positive impact on the local economy by employing local support staff and choosing local goods and services wherever possible.

We encourage our guests to have a better understanding of the natural world and the principles of conservation on which this park was founded.
