We’re almost at the end of the year and as the summer break beckons thoughts turn towards where to go for a few days to relax. Staying in Deep Creek National Park is a wonderful option with significantly lower daytime temperatures in summer.
It has the added advantage of being secluded but central: you’re away from the crowds but it’s still only a 20-minute drive to shops and restaurants and beaches.
Then there’s the gorgeous beaches from which you can let the cool breeze coming off the Southern Ocean waft over you.
Drive to Tapanappa lookout at sunset to take in the magnificent view to Tunkalilla Beach and watch wedgetail eagles ride the thermals or visit Boat Habor Cove to spot the bottlenose dolphins that regularly call in to say hello.
A stay in Deep Creek NP is not complete without a visit to the all year waterfall. Get up early and it will reward you with a tranquil and contemplative experience in a beautiful natural setting that is hard to find these days.
The Goondooloo Ridge walk is a very easy walk that offers fantastic views across Backstairs Passage to Kangaroo Island. Along the way you’ll see plenty of Western Grey Kangaroos in their natural habitat to keep you company.
To finish off our 30th anniversary providing nature-based stays in this most beautiful of parks we’d like to make your next visit even better: Stay 2 nights and enjoy a 3rd night for half price! We’re honouring this offer between now and the end of February to thank all our guests for their support over these years and to make sure everyone gets a chance to take advantage of it.
